48 Hour Machinima Project: Paint the Line

Postby The Eva Monkey on Tue Nov 18, 2008 6:07 pm

Our latest video, which is our first non-Spriggs video, will be up on YouTube tonight.

It's our entry into the 48 Hour Film Project's Machinima section that took place this past weekend.

WE ROCKED IT OUT.

Cross your fingers. We might win something.

Yeah, I would say we were pretty exhausted. We worked pretty much nonstop on it for the entire 48 hour period. I'm surprised how everyone pulled together to get it done.

That being said, I'll give you a little bit of info that I'll expand upon in the next blog update. We're looking at our crew and trying to figure out where we're going. The way we produced this film is the way we intend to produce Spriggs (and other projects) in the future. I took a greater role in the video production, doing all of the cinematography and much of the editing. Alex revisited his role as audio engineer, and Erin handled all of the voice direction. Rob and Jordon had a sound library prepared to build our sound mix (because we actually do follow the rules and don't use Halo's sounds). And Jordon produced THREE new pieces of music for this film. And to shake things up, I directed, Mike was assistant director, and we added Karen and newcomer Dorian to the mix to provide some fresh ideas and vocals.

I'm very pleased with the result, and I'm curious as to whether we could attack Spriggs episodes with the same determination to get them produced in a tight time frame without sacrificing quality. Next year, I'm going to have to challenge some other well known machinima makers to participate.

Don't we all. She's definitely not a new face among our crew, but this is the first time she's contributed a voice.

Great work guys, nice to see you have a gameplan. Just don't burn yourselves out. If you do well, you may even get the people at microsoft to oh, I don't know..... PAY ATTENTION?!?

48 hours... that's really impressive. I imagine your experience with Spriggs was very helpful.

They are, it's just a lengthy process, which we're not not really supposed to talk about publicly, however, if it's people taking notice, Bungie took notice recently and offered us some nice comments via email.

Neat, that helps. Good luck with the competition, unless it's already over, no?

I thought the episode was great.
My offline Halo account is: BOB, while my online halo account is robbieagray91, and I love making really awesome(yet stable) forge maps. I am also hosting a Mafia game in the roleplayaing forum of this website.

Hey, at least you got something out of that. Imagine just how PISSED you, your friends, and ALL your fans would be if you got absolutely nothing for all your hard work. I'd probably need a drink myself. ;)

I think they got best use of the line "I need a drink".

I could see that.

Not much more to say besides that though.
