I had wanted to make a video PSA to promote the charity Child's Play currently being conducted by Penny Arcade, but as things have progressed, that doesn't seem feasible. So I'm doing the next best thing, using our site here to relay the information to you.

There are a lot of sick kids out there, and many of them have to spend Christmas away from their homes and families while they’re cared for. That’s where Child’s Play comes in.

It allows video gamers around the world to donate and share their love of games to brighten the holiday season for children in hospitals across the United States, Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, and Egypt.

You can donate money via Paypal, or you can purchase items for any individual hospital via Amazon wish lists. The gifts you can purchase include child appropriate games for a variety of game systems, as well as movies, books, even classic games like Monopoly, Jenga, and Connect Four.

If you're looking for a cause to give to this holiday season, Child's play might be good for you. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I would be happy knowing at least one more person contributed to brightening the holidays for these kids, many of whom have been through so much discomfort because of their ailments.
